Hello Friends!
I am eager to learn from the incredible people of Kenya, immerse myself in their culture, and share my skills and experiences to create positive change. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful and measurable contribution to the lives of children, and it comes at a time when I have gained a deeper personal understanding of the world.
Travel is still relatively new to me; for instance, just last year I took my first airplane ride, and I also experienced life outside of the US when I visited El Salvador. That trip was eye-opening and revealed a stark contrast between privilege and struggle. To be honest, I have always had access to exceptional education, running water, heating, air conditioning, local doctors, and steady work. I have never experienced hunger, poverty, homelessness, or conflict. Knowledge has always been at my fingertips, thanks to computers, and I can purchase almost anything and have it delivered to my door. These are necessities and luxuries that many people in this world struggle to obtain or remain entirely out of reach. Hearing or reading about the struggles others face is one thing, but witnessing them in person had a profound impact on me.
By embarking on this life-changing journey to Kenya, I hope to contribute to our team’s effort to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those less fortunate. No matter how small our actions may seem, each of us has the ability to create a significant impact on these children and ignite lasting legacies for them to embrace as their own. I am truly humbled to be part of this initiative, and I ask for your support in making this endeavor a reality for our team. Any contribution, regardless of its size, will bring us one step closer to achieving our goal and making a positive impact on the lives of others.
