I first heard about The Makindu Children’s Center through my friend, Dennis, who sent me a letter telling me that he was going to do a walking safari to raise money for children who need our help in Africa. It’s not often I received a solicitation to help out in a way that was so direct and personal and I was happy to donate. Now, many years later, I will be joining the Proper Walk myself to raise funds for the Makindu Children’s Center! I’m excited to be able to help and look forward to this big adventure!
I am a long-time activist and have been involved with Citizens Climate Lobby over the past several years. I host the annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival for Berkeley Earth Day to raise money as well as awareness about global environmental Issues including those affecting African wildlife. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to see these animals in the wild and at the same time help children who need our help to get the basic resources and support they need to survive and thrive.
I am a grandmother of two beautiful little girls, Talia and Olivia, and own two little terriers, Wally and Wiggles. I spend time most days doing Zumba, yoga, riding my bike, hiking, and playing guitar.
