Dave Brooks is a professional photographer who began taking photos in Kenya back in the late 1970s. Dave participated in two Proper Walks, the adventure for a cause that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Makindu Children's Program. These photos are from the celebration for the Walkers at the centre in Makindu in 2008.

The Guardians are one of the Makindu Children's Centre's keys to success. By taking the AIDS orphans into their homes they allow the centre's limited resources to go towards education, medical care, and nutrition instead of bricks and mortar for an orphange that would house a much smaller number of vulnerable children.
